A catch-all email mailbox is one that gathers all the messages sent to nonexistent addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but someone mistypes it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Just one mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and in this way you will never miss messages because the other side has an out-of-date email address or has made a mistake. The negative aspect of using a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving a lot of spam messages, but this issue can be fixed using anti-spam protection software. It’s also essential to keep in mind that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all feature cannot forward inbound emails to a third-party address.
Catch-all Emails in Cloud Website Hosting
In case you host a domain name on our cloud hosting platform and you have a cloud website hosting account, you will be able to activate the catch-all feature for any e-mailbox that you set up under the domain. The Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section offers quite a lot of features, but it is remarkably easy to work with, so setting up a catch-all mailbox takes only one click of the mouse. All the email addresses that you have set up will be listed in this section alphabetically and you will simply have to click on the "Catch-all" button for the specific email address. Our system will notify you if there’s already another catch-all mailbox enabled for that domain or if the one that you would like to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding enabled, so you can either deactivate the latter feature or pick some other mailbox. Disabling the catch-all feature is just as easy and takes one more mouse click on the same button.
